Silybum marianum

Silybum marianum Milk thistle

This thistle flowers from April to July and can grow to an height of 2m. It weas originally native to southern Europe to Asia, but can now be found worldwide. It contains many nutrients and has been used for liver disease and cancer, but not proven to help. The roots can be eaten raw or cooked.
