Cistus albidus

Cistus albidus Grey-leaved sunrose

Jara blanca

This Rock rose flowers from March to June though I saw some in flower last December! It depends on the warmth and sunshine. It is native to SW Europe and NW Africa. It can grow up to 1 metre tall and is quite a picture to see verges and banks covered with this lovely flower. The leaves are grey/green, oblong and woolly, covered with dense hairs.
