Pancratium maritinum Sea daffodil
Azucena marina
This beautiful Sea daffodil is a joy to find on beaches and sand dunes from July to October. It is a bulbous perennial native to both sides of the Mediterranean. It can grow as tall as 16ins or 40cms and has a subtle scent. I can remember reading somewhere that the bulbs can be 2 metres down in the sand.
